RDAP Lookup. Find out who owns a domain and check availability.
# What is a RDAP lookup?
Whenever a domain name is registered, the ICANN requires registrants to provide up-to-date contact information to their domain registrars. A RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol) lookup allows you to trace the ownership and registration details of a domain name or an IP address.
# What are the differences between RDAP and WHOIS?
RDAP is a JSON-format replacement for WHOIS. As of January 28, 2025, ICANN officially sunsetted the requirement for WHOIS, making RDAP the definitive protocol for gTLD registration data access. However, country code top-level domains (ccTLDs) are not governed by ICANN and have varying RDAP adoption rates. While some ccTLDs have begun supporting RDAP, many continue to rely on WHOIS.
# How do I use this RDAP lookup tool?
Simply enter a valid apex domain name (e.g., example.com) into the search field above. You can also enter an IPv4 or IPv6 address to get detailed information about the IP address as well, including GeoLite2 data created by MaxMind.
